Who we are
DigiDine (“we”, “us”) provides digital QR code menus at digidine.co.uk. For any question about your data, email [email protected].
Guests viewing a menu
You don't need an account, and we don't use advertising or tracking cookies. To show businesses how their menu is used, we count:
- each time a menu is opened (which business, which table and when), and
- each time a dish is opened (which dish and when).
These counts don't include your name, phone number, location or IP address. To avoid counting the same phone twice, the menu keeps a small note in your browser's storage for a short time. If you choose to remember your dietary filters, they are saved only in your own browser. These notes and filters stay on your phone and aren't sent to us.
Like any website, our hosting and database providers handle your device's IP address to deliver the page and the menu. The menu also loads fonts from Google Fonts and code from jsDelivr, which receive your IP address to send those files.
Businesses using the portal
Each business signs in with one email address and a password. We don't ask for names, phone numbers or other personal details to sign in. Passwords are stored by our sign-in provider in a protected (hashed) form that we can't read.
We also hold:
- your menu, photos and logo, and the business details you show guests (such as your address and phone number);
- a history of changes to your dishes, including which login made each change, to help with support;
- the anonymous menu and dish counts described above, shown to you as statistics;
- emails you send us.
Payments
If you pay by card or Direct Debit, Stripe collects and holds your payment details (such as name, card or bank details and billing address). We don't see your full card or bank details; we see whether each payment succeeded, its amount and date.
If you pay by bank transfer, we record the amount, the date and any note (such as the payment reference). The payer's name and account details appear on our bank statement.
Why we use this information
- To provide the service you've signed up for and support you (our contract with you).
- To keep the service secure, prevent misuse, and produce statistics and improve the service (our legitimate interests).
- To keep accounting records (a legal obligation).
Combined statistics
We may combine menu information across many businesses into anonymised statistics, for example average prices by type of dish. These never identify an individual business or person.
Who we share it with
We use these providers to run the service:
- Supabase: database, sign-in and photo storage
- Cloudflare: website hosting and domain
- Stripe: card and Direct Debit payments
- Resend: sign-in, password reset and payment-link emails
- Zoho Mail: our email inbox
- Google Fonts and jsDelivr: fonts and code used by our pages
Supabase, Cloudflare, Resend and Zoho Mail handle data only on our instructions. Stripe, Google Fonts and jsDelivr also act under their own privacy policies. Some of these providers may process data outside the UK. Where they do, appropriate safeguards are in place, such as the UK's approved contract terms. We don't sell personal data.
How long we keep it
- Your login, menu and photos: while your account is open. When your account ends, we delete them when you ask us to, and otherwise within 12 months.
- Deleted dishes and categories: kept for 7 days so they can be restored, then removed. Replaced or removed photos are deleted from storage.
- Payment records: 6 years, for accounting.
- Anonymous menu and dish counts: as part of your menu's statistics, removed when your account is deleted.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct or delete your personal data, to have it sent to you, or to object to or limit how we use it. Email [email protected] and we'll reply within one month. You can also complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes to this notice
If we change how we use data, we'll update this page and the date at the top, and tell businesses using the service by email about any important change.
